Event Description
Trevor Noah, the host of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning The Daily Show on Comedy Central, will take the IU Auditorium stage on Friday, April 27. Presented by Union Board and IU Auditorium, an evening of fun and laughs await when Noah arrives in Bloomington this spring.
The South African native and television personality's success has sold out shows in over five continents and he brings hilarity with him wherever he goes. This year The Daily Show was nominated for a Writers Guild Award (Comedy/Variety Series). Noah also recently won Best Host at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, as well as a Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series for his hosting role on The Daily Show – Between The Scenes. He joined The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in 2014 as a contributor.
Noah has released nine comedy specials, including his most recent in February 2017, Afraid of the Dark, on Netflix. The special was shot before a packed house in New York City at the Beacon Theatre. His other stand-up specials include Trevor Noah: Lost in Translation, on Comedy Central in 2016, and Trevor Noah: African American, on Showtime in 2013.
Noah was also the subject of David Paul Meyer's award-winning documentary film You Laugh But It's True, which tells the story of his remarkable career in post-apartheid South Africa. Born in South Africa to a black South African mother and a white European father, Noah has hosted numerous television shows including South Africa’s music, television, and film awards, and two seasons of his own late-night talk show, Tonight with Trevor Noah.
