Emmy and Tony Award-Winning Actress and Singer Kristin Chenoweth Brings Concert "For The Girls" to Bloomington October 30

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth will perform her concert For The Girls in Bloomington for one night only on Saturday, October 30 at 8 p.m.

 

The concert will feature Chenoweth’s personally charged interpretations of classic songs such as “The Way We Were” and “I Will Always Love You” identified with such iconic artists like Barbara Streisand, Lesley Gore, Linda Ronstadt, Dinah Washington, Dolly Parton, and more. Chenoweth performed this concert on the Broadway stage for limited run at the Nederlander Theatre in 2019.

 

Chenoweth’s career spans film, television, voiceover, and stage. She played the original role of Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked and was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance. Known well for that impactful role, when Wicked recently reopened on Broadway after the pandemic shut-down, Chenoweth gave pre-show remarks to the crowd and introduced the show. She has also won a Tony for her role Sally in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. Chenoweth has also appeared on hit TV series such as Glee and The West Wing.

 

“This special evening with the incomparable Kristin Chenoweth will feature a set list of songs spanning a variety of genres and generations of music as well as fun banter from this star of stage and screen,” IU Auditorium Executive Director Doug Booher said. “We are delighted to host Ms. Chenoweth for a Saturday night experience our audience soon won’t forget.”

 

Upcoming, Chenoweth is set to star in and produce the single-camera comedy series The Biggest Star in Appleton which will premiere on Disney Plus.  She has performed to sold-out audiences across the world, including venues such as Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall. In 2015, Chenoweth earned a Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for her lead role in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s On the Twentieth Century.  Recently, she can be seen on NBC’s hit comedy series Trial & Error as well as Starz original series American Gods.
