Facebook Live Event with Broadway Touring Actress and IU Alumna Kaitlyn Mayse Set for Thursday, May 14 at 8 p.m.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – On the heels of its first-ever Facebook Live event, IU Auditorium announces its second Facebook Live performance and Q&A with Broadway touring actress and IU alumna Kaitlyn Mayse. The livestream will take place on Thursday, May 14 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT and will go live on IU Auditorium’s Facebook page which can be found at Facebook.com/iuauditorium or by searching for “IU Auditorium” on the Facebook app on any device.
Mayse was in the cast of the first national tour for Bandstand before it ended in March due the COVID-19 pandemic. She was in the ensemble and an understudy for the role of Julia Trojan. The production was choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler, the choreographer of Hamilton.
She recently played the lead role of Ella to conclude the national tour of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella; in fact, Mayse was in the ensemble and an understudy for the roles Ella and Gabrielle when Cinderella stopped into IU Auditorium in the winter of 2018.
A 2016 graduate of Indiana University, Mayse earned her bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre with a certificate in Dance. During her time at IU, she performed in numerous productions with IU’s Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance and other Bloomington theatre groups (see full list below).
Mayse has also performed in regional theatre productions of Beauty and the Beast (Belle), 1776 (Martha Jefferson), and Oklahoma! (Ensemble/Swing). For more about Mayse and her career, visit KaitlynMayse.com or follow her on social media @kaitlynmayse.
